The only thing I've notice is on the weekends with high volume of users, a lot of the websites gets a lot of spam popup commercials even when adblocker add-on extensions are enabled, scrolling/navigating is slow to even jerky at times and it's annoying, but since I switched over to the new default "Slimjet" browser on my wife's laptop, which I'm very happy with, all those things I mentioned above is no longer present on my wife's new Lenovo 15.6" laptop with the Windows 8.1 OS, which was OK after getting used to all of it's weird and new strange features.Slimjet is a relatively young browser based on the Chromium engine.

I too usually wouldn't try to fix what ain't broke, but now it's all about tweaking our PCs to make it function better and or faster and this new " Slimjet" browser has done that for us and we're very satisfied with the results.

I need find me a copy of the premium Windows Vista OS and maybe someday reformat all of our computers to Windows Vista, which, I prefer over to Windows 7.Īlso 8.1's security features is tied in to an email address I believe the website and or her Yahoo address is mated with her laptop, maybe that was my doing tinkering with this 8.1 OS, I really don't know. That is just one of the drawbacks I find with this Windows 8.1 OS when trying to organize my files, but other than that it's a so and so OK OS, but it isn't great! Something better just has to be developed. Windows 8.1 isn't to my liking, because it has some strange functions when creating files and or when renaming files/folders and even the titles, some of the files goes somewhere or gets lost and difficult to trace.

I'm a lot happier with my desktop at home with the Basic Windows Vista OS. SLIMJET BROWSER PRO
I have 7 Pro on my laptop though so by time I need a new one, 8 will be well in the past. After trying it out a few times, I myself have come to the conclusion that it isn't too bad. Just an inexpensive computer and I went over and loaded the 8.1 up and was playing with it to see what it was all about. Finally, told her to go ahead and give it a shot. I had been telling her to forget about 8 but now I have heard that a lot of the probs with it have been rectified with 8.1. How does your wife like the 8.1? My wife just junked an old of computer at the office and got one built but of course needed to get an OS for it I was out trying to find 7 for her but it is darn near extinct in the Philippines from what I can see. Is that right or is it, "If it isn't broke, don't try to fix it"? Ahhh, all the same to me.

Personally, I usually adhere to "If it isn't broke, then don't worry about it". Yeah, there are other lighter browsers out there though which are similar to the one you are talking about Art. I have been using Google Chrome for a few years and it still goes at warp speed for me.
